THE VILLAGE OF AGNANTA
TZOUMERKA - EPIRUS - GREECE
The village of Agnanta is a part of the municipality of Central Tzoumerka, Epirus. Agnanta is one of the largest villages of Tzoumerka with a population of 283 residents and an altitude of 650m.
The Plaka Bridge is 15 km away from the village and that makes Agnanta a perfect starting point for visiting the nearby area. Also a variety of outdoor activities like rafting, canoeing and hiking, are offered by local guides.
Do not forget to visit the OLD FULLING Mill at the center of the village, as it's one of the best sights of Tzoumerka.

- PLAKAS BRIDGE
The Plaka bridge was one of the largest arch bridges in the Balkans, with 61 meters in length and an arch of 40 meters (130 ft) width and 17.61 meters (57 ft 9 in) height. The bridge was built in 1866 on river Arachthos and was the physical border between the Kingdom of Greece and the Ottoman Empire until 1913. In February 1944, the historic armistice treaty between the two parties of the Greek Civil War was signed in the office next to the bridge.
- PLAKAS-MOUCHOUSTION MONASTERY
The Mouchoustiou monastery is located in the village of Raftanaioi on the road after Kalentzi. It is dedicated to the Birth of Virgin Mary which is celebrated on September 8. It is speculated that it was built during the Ottoman Period. The beautiful wall paintings of the monastery date back to 1694.

The impressive twin waterfall is located in the village of Katarraktis in Central Tzoumerka at an altitude of 1,360 meters. The waterfall is located about 3-4 km away from the Village and it can be accessed through a stone path or alternatively through a wooden bridge that provides an easier route.
