LOCATION & SIGHTS
Cave Anemotripa located in the village Pramanta, is located about 60km. from Ioannina and 65 km. from Arta. Discovered in 1960 by two residents, it is called " the white cave of Greece" because of the pure limestone found inside. The temperature of the atmosphere is stable at 19oC and that of the water at 10oC. The interior of the cave is shaped by a river in three levels, the second of which has a 250m path, that crosses throught spaces with stalagmites, stalactites, ponds and a 2m tall waterfall.
ST. PARASKEYH MONASTERY
The monastery of Agia Paraskevi is located between the villages of Pramanta and Melissourgoi, among the foothills of Strogoula peak. It was established around 1878. During the years 1908-1912, it was the seat of chieftain John Poutetsi and was used as a hospital for the wounded of the military resistance against the German occupation. According to tradition, this is the region where Theodora Petraleifa (13th century) later known as St. Theodora stayed in exile.
